Description

Earlier 19th century. Single storey, 2-bay, asymmetrical-plan gate lodge forming N entrance to Doonholm Estate. Coursed, squared sandstone and render. Base course; deep eaves; splayed corner angles.

W (ENTRANCE) ELEVATION: advanced pedimented entrance to left; timber door; narrow window to return to left; 3-light window with deep window hood to right.

N (DOONHOLM ROAD) ELEVATION: 2-bay. Window openings to advanced bay to left and recessed bay to right; deep window hoods.

E AND S ELEVATIONS: not seen 1999.

Predominantly small-paned timber windows. Slate piend roof; coped pitch stacks; circular cans.

INTERIOR: not seen 1999.

GATEPIERS, RAILINGS AND BOUNDARY WALL: square-plan gatepiers with chamfered angles; spear-headed railings atop low coped boundary wall.

Statement of Interest
