Description

Circa 1900-10. Free style. Single storey and attic, 3-bay house. Dark local squared whinstone, harled gables, generous use of ashlar dressings. Recessed centre entrance with ashlar jambs rising as shaped overdoor framing oval fanlight; modern door. Flanking bipartites. Pedimented dormers in outer bays corbelled out on ashlar bases and flanked by scroll brackets. Rounded-headed centre dormer with leaded roof. Multi-pane glazing in upper lights of timber sash and case windows and in centre dormer.

Long and short margins. Original cast-iron rainwater goods; corniced end stacks; slate roof.

Statement of Interest

Unusual design with some interesting detailing. Note bell fitting accommodated in ashlar doorpiece.
