Grangewells was designed and built for the Tweedie's then sold to the Stewarts who lived their for 17 years. This photograph is taken shortly after the Stewarts moved in. The Tweedie family had connections with shipping and they left many things in and around the house connect to ships. The wooden building to the left of the drive is the cabin, which taken from the Claymore ship, there is also has a flag post attached to the cabin. The gardens were layout in the style of Gertrude Jekdue Jekyll and a formal rose garden is located on the right behind the beech hedge.
The main living room has curved glass and faces the front drive, the other 2 windows facing the drive are bedrooms.
