Description

Circa 1850. Large symmetrical 2-storey villa. Rubble-built
with raised ashlar quoins at angles and front elevation
openings, other openings margins. only. 3-window front,
central projecting 2-storey entrance bay with ball finialled
gable, steps to door widely splayed with simple railings.
2-window gables with single central attic window to west. Big
gabled roof with broad end stacks, W stack rebuilt. Single
storey and attic rear addition, piended at north end. Slated
roofs, with straight skews, one modern box dormer. Sashes
otherwise original 12-pane pattern. Polygonal ashlar
gatepiers.

Statement of Interest

Formerly Viewmont (on OS map surveyed 1862). Now

subdivided but staircase retained.
