Description

Robert Stewart of Stewart & Patterson of Glasgow, Architects.
Dated 1916. Big 4-storey commercial building on corner site.
Framed construction with Edwardian baroque detailing; stone-
cleaned red ashlar (partly granite at ground) with original
shop fronts, giant order carried through 1st and 2nd storeys
with Ionic columns at angle (block over wall-head with
figurative sculpture), bays with pilaster strips, top storey
treated as attic; entablatures, with iron window balconies
at top floor; roof concealed from street.
Low 2-storey range to either side.
