NW (PRINCIPAL) ELEVATION: symmetrical. Oversailing stair to part-glazed panelled timber door in bay to right of centre with window beyond and regular fenestration close to eaves to 1st floor. Bays to left mirror the above but without oversailing steps. Timpany gable to centre.
12-pane glazing pattern in timber sash and case windows to No 14; modern glazing to No 15. Grey slates. Rendered stack to timpany gable, brick stack to SW, both coped, some cans.
The square was laid out in 1809-10 but was still incomplete by 1822. Parts have since been replaced and others perhaps never built thus the square no longer has architectural unity. Originally called 'The Octagon' or 'Sexagon'.
