Description

1830-40 style of William Robertson; considerable later

alterations and additions. Single storey and attic over

raised basement, 3-bay house. Harled, tooled and polished

ashlar margins and dressings. Centre entrance approached by

shallow flight of steps; doorway sheltered by portico

supported by pair Roman Doric columns; flanking canted

windows.

Later canted dormers each side and at rear; 2-pane glazing.

Piended platform slate roof with centre pair corniced stacks. Considerable rear 2-storey addition; further double gabled

single storey wing at NE fronting Blantyre Street. Low ashlar

coped harl pointed rubble wall fronts house with

centre-pedestrian entrance with cast-iron gate with spearhead decoration; high rubble wall encloses Blantyre Street

elevation.
