Description

Circa 1825. Squat 2 stage crenellated octagonal folly dovecote;
red ashlar sandstone; entrances at north in ground and 1st
floor; blind cruciform arrow loops in ground floor, round
headed openings in each face of 1st stage, blind to north and
east. 27 nesting boxes within, and small fireplace in ground
floor.

Statement of Interest

Would have originally been ceiled between ground and 1st floor

each floor with own entrance. Ground floor possibly served as

h<> houses with wooden boxes Probably built within the former

curtilage of Dingwall Castle from which it is now separate. Does

not appear on Wood's map Dingwall of 1821.
