Early 19th century, 2-storey, 3-bay house with slightly later
ground floor shop fronts, returning 5 bays to Church Street.
High Street: rendered with contrasting painted margins;
centre corniced and pilastered doorpiece; double leaf panelled
door; flanking 3-bay shop fronts, each with centre door and
flanking shop windows with panelled aprons (left only, No.65)
Church Street; rubble, with painted margins; doorway in 4th
bay at north end of frontage, with 1 window left and 3 right,
5 symmetrical 1st floor window. 2-pane glazing; end and ridge
stacks; ridge finial; piended slate roof.
Interior: deep painted frieze of coved ceiling in High
Renaissance style in one upstairs room.
Said to have been former Council Chamber.
