Description

Circa 1788. Symmetrical 2-storey, 5-bay classical house;
recessed single storey side blocks, roofed 2-bay to E, flat
to W. Projecting extension to rear. Droved red sandstone
ashlar; rubble sides and rear with ashlar dressings.
S ENTRANCE FRONT: Ionic doorpiece, panelled door, decorative
fanlight, approached by flight of steps and wrought-iron
balustrade. Rusticated ground floor, voussoired lintels.
Raised band course with recessed centre above ground floor
and cill course to 1st floor, continuous over block to E.
Cornice with blocking course and raised, fluted centre block.
12-pane glazing at ground floor, plate glass sashes above.
Piended slate roof with ashlar end stacks.
ASHLAR E BLOCK: door to left, window to right; steep pitched
slate gable with piended dormer N rear. W block; blind sash.
Continuous wall to left with segmental arched entrance.
