Description

18th century. Six-bay, three-storey tenement. Modern shops at ground central pend to Number 57. Rendered, painted and incised, as ashlar, painted contrasting margins. Raised lintel course above first floor. Enlarged windows to Number 55 at second floor, resulting in raised eaves. Slate roofs with wallhead gable stack above third bay. 12-pane glazing to three north bays, with smaller openings under eaves; four-pane glazing to south three bays. Rear of Number 59 rendered with fine rounded stairwell and swept slated roof.
