J M Crawford of Dumbarton, architect. Dated 1898. 4-storey
corner tenement block, with Scots Baronial detailing. Stugged
ashlar, with polished dressings. Main elevations both broadly
similar, 8 irregular bays and taller 5-storey additional
canted angle bay with blind bipartites at each level above
pedimented public house doorway, and capped by corbelled,
rectangular chamber with crow-stepped gables and corbelled, conical-roofed angle turret. Each main elevation has 3-storey
canted window off-centre under crow-stepped gable;
square-headed close openings, doors and windows, with
pedimented 3rd storey dormer heads; most windows retain 15 or
25-pane upper sashes. Corniced wall-head stacks set behind
crow-stepped gables; additional apex stacks; crow-stepped
gables; slated roofs.
