Description

William Alexander 1882. Large detached 2-storey and basement villa with Italianate Tower. Ashlar front, quoined angles and snecked rubble rear. Elevation to Douglas Terrace symmetrical with canted end bays at ground floor and basement with simple balustrades, centre tripartite. Architraved bipartites at 2nd. Set-back 3-storey Italianate tower with heavy consoled doorpiece. Top stage triple arched lights. Romanesque corbel table. Low pyramidal roof with wrought-iron finial and stack. Piended and platformed slate roofs with bracketted eaves. Gable-end stacks. Windows sash and cose, 2-pane glazing pattern.

Rubble-built boundary walls with square pyramidal-capped gatepiers.
