Description

Young and Meldrum 1878. Pair of 2-storey and attic semi-detached villas with Italianate Tower. Ashlar front, snecked rubble rear. Elevation to Albany Terrace symmetrical with advanced gable ends having pilastered canted bays cavetto corbelled to square plan gablets with single arched lights. Inner bays pilstered bipartites with pedimented dormer over each house. No 10 has set-back 3-storey Italianate tower with channelled ashlar arched doorpiece. Top stage twin arched lights with central colonettes. Low pyramidal roof with wrought-iron finial. Single storey bow in re-entrant angle. Chamfered 2-storey wing to Law Street with pedimented and modern bipartite dormers. Slate roofs with broad eaves. Ridge stacks with square-plan cans. Windows sash and case, 2-pane glazing pattern. Rubble-built boundary walls with square gatepiers and wrought-iron railings to steps.
