Description

Circa 1860 2-storey 3-bay villa, ashlar front, rubble-built sides and rear.

S ELEVATION: pilastered angles. Sill and lintel courses to each floor. Centre triple round-arched ground floor window with keystones and incised spandrels. 2 lights over with recessed margins. Bay to right advanced with canted windows through both floor. Ground floor canted bat at left with cornice and parapet, 1st floor canted bay later added in concrete. Main cornice and blocking course, part with a further course and scrolled ends.

Gables: set-back balustraded porch at E with arched architraved doorpiece. Long W gable and service wing.

Piended slate roofs. Corniced wallhead stacks. Windows sash and case, 2-pane glazing pattern.

STABLE BLOCK: at angle of Inverlaw Place and Douglas Terrace, rubble-built 1-storey and loft with piended dormer bay doors to N and W; 3-bay S elevation. Gabled door to E. Swept and piended slate roofs. Boundary wall, low ashlar to front, high rubble-built to rear.
