Description

Cornelius Armour, 1934. 4-storey 4- by 5-bay reinforced
concrete framed, ashlar and metal clad art deco style
warehouse.
Entrance in chamfered angle beneath sculptured cartouche
bearing ship, shells and date, stepped parapet with scallop
motif and flagpole above 3rd floor.
ELEVATION TO SEAGATE: ground floor heavily altered. Upper
windows in 4 recessed bays between plain chamfered
pilasters, outer 2-light with stone aprons centre bays
5-light with metal panels between floors. Plain parapet.
ELEVATION TO QUEEN STREET: 5 bays in similar style, windows
arranged 5-2-2-5-2 light. Ground floor intact: windows in
recessed margins with keystones, loading door at left.
Original metal-framed casement and top-hopper windows.
REAR ALTERED: reinforced concrete frame, brick infill and
new windows. Flat roof.
