John Murray Robertson, dated 1890. 4-storey and attic, 4-bay,
Jacobean-detailed tenemental building with shops to ground floor. Red sandstone coursers, ashlar dressings, brick to rear, slate roof. Sash and case windows, single pane to bottom, 4-pane to top. Corniced ridge and gable stacks. Ornate wrought-iron shop sign bracket to right of 1st floor.
S ELEVATION: ground floor shopfronts altered, with deep cornice and projecting lean-to slate roof. Centre stair door. Upper floors mullioned and transomed windows, outer bays triple-light, inner bays canted with curved sides and linked aprons with strapwork centre panels. Strapwork balcony at attic level. Main cornice with mask rainwater heads. Curvilinear gables with scrolled details, oculi at outer bays. Blind oculi at centre over 2 attic cross windows. Flat-topped finials, perhaps to carry missing obelisks or urns.
