Description

Circa 1850. 2-storey, 3-bay villa, coursed rubble with
ashlar dressings.
S elevation central Doric columned and corniced
doorpiece. Cornices and architraves to ground floor
windows. Cill band and margins to 1st floor windows.
Main cornice and blocking course. 4-bay W elevation.
Gable-end stacks. Piended slate roof. Sash and case
windows with horizontal astragals. Boundary wall and
square gatepiers.

Statement of Interest

Magdalen Place was laid out by George Mathewson in 1836

but not fully occupied until the 1860s.
