Description

Circa 1840. 2-storey, 3-by-3-bay villa, pedimented to S,
E and W elevations and lower block to N. Ashlar
with angle pilaster strips and cill-level band courses.
S elevation: 3-bay with advanced pedimented bay at left,
ground floor 4-light canted window. Other windows
bipartite with architraves, aprons and, at ground floor,
cornices.
W elevation: similar pedimented bay at left, ground
floor 2 and 3-light corniced windows and altered
doorway. Lower 2-storey wing to N with later porches.
E elevation square-piered Doric portico in pedimented
centre bay flanking bipartites.
Slated pitched and piended roofs. Octagonal ashlar
stacks.
Interior sub-divided.
Low pilastered garden walls at rear in same style as the
adjoining Seafield Works.

Statement of Interest

Owned by David Thomson, owner and manager of Seafield

Works, originally No 73, re-numbered when some of

the ground was sold off for tenements in the 1890s.
