Dated 1887. 4-storey and attic commercial building with shopfronts to ground floor. Cream sandstone ashlar, grey slate Mansard roof. Modillioned cornice to ground floor with open-work parapet above, lintel band to 1st floor, cill band to 2nd floor, consoled and modillioned main cornice over 2nd floor with fluted and dentilled cill band, corniced wallhead cornice with balustraded parapet; pilaster to angle at left; single and canted architraved windows, pilastered with triangular and segmental pediments to 1st floor, colonette nook shafts and pilasters to 2nd floor, shouldered with mannered volutes to 3rd floor, 2-pane timber sash and case glazing; corniced ridge stacks.
FRONT ELEVATION: pilastered and open-pedimented doorpiece to centre with keystoned round-headed arch, unusual finial comprising inkwell with pen over draped pile of books, slightly altered shopfronts to left and right, 3 single windows flanked by canted windows to 1st-3rd floors, 3 keystoned and round-headed dormers flanked by bipartite box dormers.
