Description

First half of 19th century, perhaps not all one build.
2-storey, 3-bay villa with circa 1820 piended broad-eaved
recessed low symmetrical wings. NW elevation painted
ashlar with contrasting dressings. Shallow advanced and
pedimented inner bay with Doric-columned heavy porch,
panelled door with fanlight and sidelights, flanking
windows corniced tripartites with pilastered jambs and
mullions; 1st floor windows architraved and with string
at cill level. Sash windows, 12-pane glazing pattern at
1st floor. Main cornice. Urns over pediment and over
heavy skew ends; corniced end stacks. Wings each with
single window facing NW; single stack (heightened in
brick) central over each SE wallhead. Slate roofs. Set
in triangular-plan garden, ashlar-coped rubble-built
walls, corniced and rusticated pedestrian gateway to
Aldermanhill Road; stables at NE and 2 rusticated
square gatepiers.
