Description

Later 18th century. 2-storey, 4-bay, rectangular plan, tenement and shops. Harled rubble with painted margins and projecting tooled sandstone, cills.

E (PRINCIPAL) ELEVATION: regular fenestration to 1st floor. Bull-faced, bay at ground to outer left, door and window added. Door to immediate right, broad double door to centre right, large, stone mullioned, 3-light window to outer right.

N(SIDE) ELEVATION: obscured by abutting building.

S (SIDE) ELEVATION: obscured by abutting building.

W (REAR) ELEVATION: not seen 2001.

12-pane, timber frame, sash and case windows to 1st floor. Grey slates, lead flashing, small modern rooflights. Cast-iron rainwater goods. Coped, gable stacks.

Statement of Interest

Despite alterations to the ground floor the upper storey still provides a good example of late eighteenth century burgh architecture, that was largely replaced in the later nineteenth century in Dunblane. Probably a 3-bay house extended by the addition of a further bay to N.
