Description

Mid 19th century. 3-storey 3-bay house with shops at ground terminating stepped terrace. Coursed stugged cream sandstone ashlar with polished dressings. Regular fenestration; raised margins; blocked cills; quoin strips.

At ground, Ionic pilastrade and dentilled cornice; at centre, deep-set panelled door with rectangular plate glass fanlight flanked by pair of 3-bay shopfronts; each with deep set panelled and glazed door with flanking plate glass windows. Blank harled gable to N. Upper floors with timber 4-pane sash and case windows. Grey slates; rebuilt brick stacks; ashlar coped skews.

Statement of Interest

There was a further building to the N before the relief road was constructed.
