Description

Late 18th century with later alterations. Symmetrical 2-storey, 4-bay terraced house (now offices). Harled; long and short cement quoins; stugged cement render lined as ashlar at ground; base course, band course above. Ashlar doorcase at centre with consoled cornice; modern door. Flanked by single tripartite windows. Windows to each bay at 1st floor. Rubble irregular rear elevation with central projecting stair tower.

Timber sash and case 12-pane windows; some casement replacements to rear. Grey slates; pair of velux rooflights to front; brick stacks.

Statement of Interest

The very convincing stugged cement lined as ashlar is matched by No 8 Currie Street. It is interesting as something of local speciality, and seen to best advantage here. The building makes an attractive group with Nos 8-10 Currie Street (see separate listings).
