Description

Mid 19th century. 2-storey 4-bay with further set-back bay to left and extensive rear additions. Plain Italianate former bank, now offices. Polished cream sandstone ashlar; set-back wing squared, coursed and stugged with polished dressings. Principal block with base course; openings at ground round-headed with roll-moulded arrises and set into pilastered arcade; cill course at 1st floor; cornice. Regular fenestration.

S (FRONT) ELEVATION: 4-bay principal block; deep-set doorway in bay to left with 2-leaf panelled oak door and further glazed and panelled inner oak door. 1st floor windows segmental-headed with chamfered arrises. Single bay return to left continues detailing, blank at 1st floor. 2-storey single bay set back to left with terminal pilaster; rectangular windows; base course; cill course at ground; band course between floors; cornice and blocking course.

Rear elevation not seen 1993.

Timber sash and case windows; plate glass to principal block, otherwise 12-pane. Piend-roofed; grey slates; shouldered and corniced ashlar stacks.

CARRIAGE ARCH: to left, segmental-headed carriage arch with cornice and blocking course.
