Late 18th century, former dairy with stair turret at rear,
to High Street on sloping ground. Formerly single
storey, now 2-storey, 3-bay house. White painted
rendering with base course, painted margins. Harled at
rear. Door to centre with flanking windows, 2 modern
dormers to attic breaking eaves. Modern extension at
rear, dormers to attic.
Sash and case windows to front, varied glazing.
Mid-late 17th century stair turret adjoining at rear;
whinstone rubble, sandstone window dressings; some
brick alterations to window reveals. Doorway blocked at
ground floor, relieving arch above, window blocked at 1st
floor. Small casement window between 1st and 2nd floors.
Red pantiles to front, grey slates at rear. Conical roof
of turret slate hung with finial.
Stair turret originally served 30 High Street former Municipal
Chambers. Blocked openings indicate changes in function.
