Description

Late 19th century. 2-storey, 3-bay, rectangular-plan house. Stugged, squared and snecked sandstone; polished sandstone dressings and details. Stop-chamfered reveals to windows; eaves cornice; hoodmoulds; rusticated quoins.

S ELEVATION: 3 near-symmetrical bays. Doorpiece at centre with roll-moulded surrounds, 4-pane narrow sidelights, stepped hoodmould, label stops; panelled door with 2-pane fanlight. Canted bay to outer right, tripartite sqaure bay to outer left, blocking course. Windows symmetrically disposed at 1st floor; window at centre, bipartites to left and right. Later bay addition recessed to right with rendered garage at ground.

6-pane over plate glass sash and case windows. Grey slate roof, ashlar coping to skews and skewblocks; corniced apex stacks.

INTERIOR: not seen 1993.

BOUNDARY WALL: low rubble wall with harl pointing; slab coping.

Statement of Interest

Unusual form of doorpiece gives particular interest to this not uncommon house design.
