Description

Mid to later 19th century with later alterations. 2-storey, 3-bay rectangular-plan gabled house with single storey addition to W. Stugged squared and snecked sandstone with droved ashlar dressings. Base course.

S ELEVATION: deep-set panelled door to recessed centre bay with 3-pane rectangular fanlight above, set in pilastered and corniced doorpiece. Cast-iron windowguard above cornice to window at 1st floor, breaking eaves with coped gable, rectangular plaque in gablehead, skewputts and thistle sandstone finial. Crowstepped gabled outer bays slightly advanced with windows at each floor, with rectangular plaque in gablehead and sandstone ball finial. Window to centre of single storey addition set back to left.

E ELEVATION: 2-bay. Window to each floor in bay to left, breaking eaves at 1st floor with coped gable, skewputts and sandstone finial. Modern glazed door at ground in bay to right (possibly former window opening), with window breaking eaves at 1st floor above (as in bay to left).

N ELEVATION: not seen, 1995.

u-PVC windows, formerly timber sash and case. Slate roof.
