Description

Earlier 19th century. 2-storey cottage with 1st floor breaking eaves. Irregular-plan with modern addition, J Dunbar Naismith. Harled with droved ashlar dressings and deeply chamfered reveals; base course. Timber sliding casement windows. Graded slates. Eaves brackets to overhanging eaves and simple barge boards.

S ELEVATION: door to left of S elevation, formed from former window (formerly on right return of porch) with large modern addition obscuring bays to right and extending S.

W ELEVATION: 2-bay with advanced gable bay to right originally with entrance at ground (now blocked and creeper clad) with tripartite casement window to jettied 1st floor. Bay to left with windows to each floor in advanced panel off-set at 1st floor, with gabled dormerhead to 1st floor window.

N ELEVATION: broad gabled bay to right with canted window at ground (1-2-1) with stone half-piend roof; small 1st floor window above. Recessed single storey bay to left with window.

Car-port abutting E elevation and linking with rectangular-plan harled further addition.

Ridge stack to single storey block at rear.

Statement of Interest
