Description

Circa 1800. 3-storey, 4-bay terraced town house with basement, later 19th century tenement added to rear. Cream sandstone, dressed ashlar with polished dressings, coursed and squared rubble to NE elevation, rubble to rear with droved dressings. Band course above basement; architraved windows, corniced at ground floor; dentilled eaves cornice.

SE (FRONT) ELEVATION: pilastered and corniced doorway to bay to left of centre accessed by steps, fluted pilasters and swagged frieze, rectangular plate glass fanlight and panelled door. Single windows to remaining bays and floors. 2 bipartite dormers with piended roofs.

NW (REAR) ELEVATION: rear garden built up with 4-storey 4-bay later 19th century extension; single windows.

NE ELEVATION: M-gabled with broad apex stacks; single windows.

Timber sash and case windows, mostly 12-pane, some plate glass glazing to rear. Grey slate roof; 2 apex (see above) and mutual stack. Gutter recess as division with terraced neighbour.

INTERIOR: not seen 1993.

BOUNDARY WALLS AND RAILINGS: low rubble boundary wall to front, some original cast-iron railings.
