This small 15th century wellhouse was originally St Triduana's well and stood in Restalrig. James III built a chapel c1477 whose lower floor still remains as a shrine to St Triduana and the well was nearby. In 1860 the well made way for the railway and was removed to its present position. Its hexagonal design mirrors the shrine. St Triduana was a female Pictish saint thought to heal eye complaints and blindness.
