Description

Circa 1810. Single-storey, 3-bay, piend-roofed cottage on sloping site with basement to rear. Central bay slightly advanced with blocked open pediment; quatrefoil in diamond panel to tympanum; recessed non-traditional door up steps in hoodmoulded doorpiece. Windows to outer bays with painted margins and similar hoodmoulds. Coursed rubble to main elevation; random rubble to sides; ashlar dressings and long and short quoins.

12-pane glazing in non-traditional timber frames. Corniced wall-head stacks; red clay cans. Deep blocked eaves. Graded grey slates with grey ridge-tiles.

Group with number 44-46 Bridge Road. An attractive pair of Regency cottages, in a prominent position on Bridge Road.
