Description

Circa 1825. 2-storey, 3-bay, symmetrical pair of classical houses. Cream sandstone ashlar; rubble to E; rendering to W. Base course; dividing band course; cill course to 1st floor windows; architraves; cornice and blocking course; blocking course raised at centre to carriage gates.

S (ENTRANCE) ELEVATION: Ionic columns and cornice to central doorpiece incorporating both doorways; panelled doors; plate glass fanlights; single windows above doorways and in remaining bays to outer left and right.

E ELEVATION: stair window between floors.

W ELEVATION: stair window between floors.

Plate glass, timber, sash and case windows; 4-pane to 1st floor of

No 35, bipartite upper sashes to ground floor of No 35; 6-pane upper sashes to stair windows, plate glass lower sashes. Grey slate piended roofs; coped, rendered wallhead stacks; moulded cans.

INTERIOR: not seen 1995.

BOUNDARY WALLS AND CARRIAGE GATES: low coursed and coped boundary walls to street; higher rubble mutual walls; original railings. Carriage gates with modern garages behind.
