Description

Robert Matheson, 1869-71. Circular classical archive store. 2-stage, 8 blind bays. Lower section has channelled pilasters, upper with panelled pilasters and single panels between. Balustraded parapet. Single storey segmentally arched link to main building (see separate listing), with channelled banded rustication. Lead dome with oculus. Whole rests on square plinth, top-lit at corners.

INTERIOR: cast-iron galleries.

Statement of Interest

Arranged on a similar radiating plan to Register House. A Group with General Register House and the Sasine Office, James Craig Walk (see separate listings).
