Description

W T Oldrieve, 1902-4. 3-storey and basement. Polished cream sandstone ashlar. Channelled banded rustication and arcading at ground. Architraved windows; mutuled cornice.

E ELEVATION: 6-bay. End bays advanced with pedimented 1st floor windows with balustraded aprons. Balustraded parapet.

S ELEVATION: 2-bay. Link to Register House bridging basement at ground and 1st floors; modern upper section with lunette window.

W ELEVATION: 5-bay.

Timber sash and case windows. Grey slates; piended roof.

INTERIOR: large trabeated room at 1st floor now linked to Historical Reading Room of Register House.

Statement of Interest

Modern boundary wall and railings. A Group with General Register House and adjoining Scottish Office, James Craig Walk, which also see for attached octagonal entrance and stair bay turning N corner.
