W (ENTRANCE) ELEVATION: deep cantilevers on pair stanchions carrying offices above garage forecourt; office front set back slightly from wall-plane of tenements; full length strip-glazing divided by 2 fins (corresponding with cantilevers) breaking eaves and bearing original Art Deco sign ("Garage"). Petrol pumps on an island set between the principal stanchions re-located in 1961.
Spence's alternative scheme for a complete building -including a circular office suite in the style of Le Corbusier- illustated in his 1933 crayon perspectives (see RCAHMS Jubilee Collection, p56 Edwards and p69 McKean). Plain rear wing to Blackwood Crescent not included in listing.
