Circa 1868. 2-storey, irregular-plan villa with single storey service wings adjoining to E and W; subdivided. Squared and snecked sandstone with polished dressings. Base course; dividing band course; dentilled eaves cornice; segmental-arched windows to ground floor; pointed arches to 1st floor windows; chamfered reveals.
N ENTRANCE elevation: 3-bay with service wings adjoining to outer left and right. Advanced steeply gabled centre bay; colonnettes and roll-moulded hood to segmental-arched doorway; panelled door; plate glass fanlight; bracketted cornice with carved decorative panel above; window at 1st floor; floral patera set in gablehead; iron finials. Bipartite windows at ground in outer bays; single windows at 1st floor above. Sympathetic addition (1991) in form of service wing recessed to outer left. Original single storey service wing and later carriage house recessed to outer right; single window at ground; window above breaking eaves in pedimented dormerhead; piend roof to carriage house.
E KILGRASTON ROAD elevation: 4-bay. Service wing at ground; margin-panedwindow in gabled 3rd bay at 1st floor; iron finial; blinded single windows at 1st floor in remaining bays.
W ELEVATION: service wing at ground to outer left; windows at ground and in gablehead; piend-roofed carriage house to outer right. Single window breaking eaves at 1st floor behind. Plate glass sash and case windows. Grey slate piended roof with fishscale banding; shouldered and corniced wallhead stacks; moulded octagonal cans; gabletted skewputts.
BOUNDARY WALLS: low coped boundary wall to Grange Loan; high coped boundary wall to Kilgraston; high coped mutual walls. Corniced and capped ashlar gatepier.
In 1936 the southern half of the garden was sold and No 14 Kilgraston Road was built on the site.
