Description

R B Pratt, 1903-4. Edwardian Freestyle. 3 storeys and

off-centre pedimented attic; 5 bays. Modern shop fronts;

asymmetrical ashlar facade above. Narrow bay at right with

round-headed door and canted oriel above; 3 wide,

segmental-headed 1st floor windows to central bays with

simply carved block mouldings and set in shallow recessed

panels; bipartites above; wider left bay with similar details

and additional side lights. Finialled pediments to outer

bays, left with lunette. Pair round-headed windows to attic

with diminutive blind arcade and facetted roof. Balustrade to unpedimented bays; slated roof.

Statement of Interest

Dated 1904 with initials W.R. for William Ramsay. Original

line of 2 closes clearly visible at rear.
