Description

A and W Reid, 1846. Additions, also A and W Reid, 1886.
L-plan house of tooled ashlar with polished ashlar
dressings. 2 storey, 1-bay to S arm, 3 bays to E arm with
square corniced porch at re-entrant angle; angle buttress
to porch supporting stone urn; later canted bay windows
to ground floor, S and W elevations; later corniced
bipartite to S gable; bracketted cills to all windows. Some
12-pane glazing survives. Deep bracketted stone eaves;
square ridge stacks in batteries of 3; shallow piended
slate roof.
Later 2 storey, single bay wing to rear.

Corner site with Queen Street. (Rear wing of 11 Institution

Road is No 17 Queen Street).
