Description

A and W Reid, 1857-8. Gothic; tooled ashlar, polished ashlar dressings. E gable to Moss Street with advanced 3 stage centre tower housing pointed arched, moulded recessed porch with decorated traceried window above; clock faces (now removed) under pointed hoodmould at top of 2nd stage; 4 louvred traceried windows at crenellated upper stage; truncated angle pinnacles; diagonal angle buttresses.

4-bay buttressed flanks with traceried windows under pointed hoodmoulds with alternate buttresses; slate roof.

Statement of Interest

No longer in ecclesiastical use. Previously listed as Wynn's Store. Tower 95' high to top pinnacles (now removed). Lower portions of windows blocked. Former Item 153 (1981 Revised List).
