James Newlands, builder and contractor, 1906. Pair
single storey and attic, 2-bay houses. Bullfaced rubble
sandstone with exaggerated bullfaced dressings. Paired
centre entrances, each with panelled door and narrow
side light with Art Nouveau coloured glazing. Slightly
advanced bipartite ground floor windows with crenellated
wallhead. Single centre shaped gabled dormer with
bipartite flanked in outer bays by crowstepped gabled
dormers, all dormers breaking wallhead. 2-pane glazing.
Corniced end stacks; slate roof.
GARDEN WALLS: exaggerated bullfaced rubble coped low
garden walls front houses with shaped coped terminals
flanking pedestrian entrances.
Plans appear to have been drawn by James Newlands himself.
