Construction of 22 Park Circus commenced in 1872 and was completed in 1874.

The house was originally built for Walter Macfarlane, founder of the Saracen Foundry. Designed by James Boucher (who also designed the Possilpark and Washington Street Foundaries), 22 Park Circus was the home of Walter Macfarlane.
