Circa 1890. Astylar curved terrace of tenements stepped down
slope. 3 storeys with attic storey and basement. 5x3-bay
units. Gap site at No 17. Polished ashlar, partly painted or stonecleaned.
Steps oversailing basement to door at left; 2-storey canted
window at centre, otherwise all windows single-light
architraved and corniced to 1st and 2nd floors. 7 attic
windows deeply recessed beneath eaves, divided by attenuated
incised triglyphs/brackets supporting main cornice. Sash
windows; plate glass glazing. Continuous mutule cornice over
ground. String course at 2nd and 3rd floor cills.
Low ashlar boundary wall to road, at Nos 18 and 20 with
ashlar balustrade; otherwise cast-iron railings. Cast-iron
railings to steps; some modern.
