Terrace of 4 2-bay houses, 2 storeys and basement, adjoining
Kensington Gate at S. Polished red ashlar with bull-faced
basement.
To right, steps oversailing basement to pedimented doorpiece
with square art nouveau leaded glass fanlight. Flanking
double-leaf panelled doors small pedimented sidelights, also
with leaded glass. Above door, bipartite window. To left,
2-storey 5-light bow window rises from basement to conical
roof; moulded band-course over ground. Nos 7 and 9 with
oculus window at ground floor. Sash windows, plate glass
glazing. Wooden modillion eaves; slate roofs with tiled
ridge; corniced axial stacks with ocatagonal cans, tiled
skews with skew-putt.
Stugged ashlar N flank. Central full-height square oriel
window; 2-light at ground; 5-light at 1st and 2nd floor.
Stugged ashlar rear elevation with alternately advanced bays.
All windows tripartite to rear.
Solid polished red ashlar wall to parapet of steps and to basement/boundary walls.
Part of Kensington Gate B group. Adjoins Kensington Gate and
similar in detail, also a David Barclay design.
