Description

Circa 1830. 4 3-storey and basement, 3-bay terraced classical
houses, stepped in slope, altered to offices; 5-bay return to
West Campbell Street; 1st bay from N blind at 1st and 2nd
floor, 2nd bay blind. Ashlar, channelled at basement,
partially altered. Right entries at heads of steps, consoled
and block pedimented doorpieces at Nos 240 and 242; double
arched, corniced doorpiece at No 234. Windows mainly sash and
case in architraves, dropped at 2nd floor. Ground floor
windows corbelled cills altered at Nos 238 and 248; ground
floor band course, partly removed. 1st floor cill band,
corniced windows. Eaves cornice; blocking course. Ridge
stacks; paired, corniced, panelled wallhead stacks rising
from pedestal at West Campbell Street.
REAR ELEVATION: droved ashlar; some 12-pane glazing.
