Alexander Thomson (A and G Thomson) 1871. Single storey "Thomsonesque' villa, front (unusually for Thomson at this date, for this idiom) symmetrical, recessed centre porch with pair Egyptian columns with painted detail, pilastraded 3-light flanking windows; shallow-pitch (slated) roof, deep eaves with cresting; original doorway and glazing; rectangular-plan; snecked and stugged ashlar, polished dressings, unmargined openings; lamp brackets at entrance. 3-bay flanks; rooflight over hall; end stacks with lotus flower chimney cans.
Interior altered. Low boundary wall, distinctive gatepiers with Egypto-greek detailing similar to Thomson's Castlehill, alongside.
Built for William Johnston, gas fitting manufacturer.
