Description

W F MacGibbon, 1895-1903, as Free Church with detached hall nearby and occupying spacious site. Gothic; rock-faced red ashlar; slate roofs. CHURCH has nave-and-aisles gabled front to street, a variant of the Dunblane Cathedral front used eg by John A Campbell at Shawlands OP Church (1885-9); shallow belfry at street-front end of N flank; roundels at clearstorey. 4 leaded windows by the Websters, chancel window by Alfred, c.1950, others by Gordon, 1962, 1967 and 1972.

HALL, to S of church and parallel, also with heavy-buttressed gable to street; roughly L-plan, octagonal entrance turret in angle wth facetted roof and ship weathervane finial. Iron-railed and stepped boundary to street.
