Built 1882 for G and SW Railway (at cost of $100,000). Colossal 6-storey warehouse exceptionally long and shallow-curved on plan to line of street; rock-faced ashlar above rusticated ground floor, small windows mostly paired and small-paned. Stone-cleaned, and converted c.1989-90 to flats; arched wide openings at ground, cast-iron columns (18' high x 12" diameter) support cast-iron beams which carry concrete arches, an early example in Glasgow of the use of mass concrete.
Used latterly as Customs and Excise warehouse.
