Description

J. Russell Mackenzie dated 1862. Baroque of
Vanbrugh-Hawksmoor school. 2-storey 7-bay granite ashlar
front, end bays advanced, simple treatment with lions at
blocking course; centre giant R-doric pilasters, arched
fenestration, ground floor rusticated; centre wide bay
has centre 1st niche flanked by narrow windows, balustrated
parapet, fanciful diagonally set cupola of Spanish
baroque inspiration. Library, museum addition Harbourne
Maclennan of Jenkins and Marr 1911. J. C. Wilson bell 1862.
