Description

Earlier 19th century incorporating earlier fabric. 3-storey 2-bay tower. Sandstone rubble with ashlar dressings, cills. Irregular 2-storey link to W contains access to tower flat and dentist's surgery. Outer corners rounded at ground, swept to square and dressed above.

N ELEVATION: 2 bays; doors at ground, that to left blocked. Windows to all bays above. Link to right with pair of panelled doors with 2-pane fanlights; bipartite window at ground and further panelled door in pilastered doorcase; 3 windows above.

E ELEVATION: broad single bay, blank at ground. Angles rounded at ground.

S ELEVATION: blank with wallhead stack to right. Adjoins extension to former Bank House (see separate listing).

4 and 12-pane timber sash and case windows. Piended roof, grey slates; brick stack.

Statement of Interest

Originally part of the Crown Hotel, 21-23 High Street (see separate listing); now a single dwelling. There is a cobbled stable on the ground floor of the E tower.
